A famous restaurant in Beijing, China: "Báijiā Dàyuàn 白家大院" in Imperial Gardens

The Baijia Dayuan, which I visited with acquaintances many years ago, is a remarkable restaurant with a great variety of food and attractions, and this restaurant is located in Zhongguancun, Beijing, China.  The Baijia Dayuan is a garden restaurant featuring royal and official dishes. The garden and its building are built by renovating the house of Prince Deasun, who is son of King Nurhachi in the Qing Dynasty.

Note 1) Nurhachi (1559-1626): Qing Dynasty First King, Aixin Gioro Nurhachi (Chinese name 爱新觉罗 • 努尔哈赤) is the founder of Qing Dynasty. He was also the founder and commander of the Manchu army.
2) Deasun (1584-1648): The second son of Nurhachi, who participated in the unification war of Yeojin Tribe with his elder brother, Jeonyoung.

The Báijiā Dàyuàn can hold 700 people at the same time, so large parties are often held. It is also a popular place for high-end business dinners because of its splendid interior decoration and Qing dynasty imperial cuisine, and it is often used as a dining place when the leaders of each country visited Beijing.
Every evening around 7:00, the Baekgawon Garden offers traditional songs, circus, Beijing opera, and Face changing.

The size of the restaurant is 3,000 square meters, with 36 different rooms including 17 VIP rooms and 19 ordinary rooms, a large banquet hall and a small banquet room. The total area is 30,000 square meters, which is 15 times of the size of a soccer field.
In the large banquet hall, the golden chairs that the emperor might have sat on, and the employees dressed in traditional Qing costumes welcome guests and visitors.
Thanks to this atmosphere, you can feel like an emperor when you sit in the banquet hall and enjoy your meal.

Báijiā Dàyuàn's location is Suzhou Street Station of Subway Line 10.
Entering the entrance to Baekga Daewon, you will find an alley with a red light hanging from it, and there are a restaurant, a garden and a small pond inside.

Báijiā Dàyuàn is characterized by a quiet and cozy atmosphere like a secret garden. In particular, the outdoor table surrounding the pond is a place where you can dine while feeling the nature of a quiet atmosphere. In summer, it is a popular place to dine away from the heat, and reservations before the visit are essential. It is also famous for shooting a number of dramas and movies because it has a gorgeous interior decoration and a garden.

The main characteristics of the court cuisine are the strictness of the selection of materials, the delicacy of cooking, and the aesthetics of color and shape. Báijiā Dàyuàn's cuisine have these all characteristics and fits that way. The price of dishes sold by Báijiā Dàyuàn ranges from 60 yuan in salads to 1300 ~ 1400 yuan of Chef's recommended dishes, but most of the dishes are plentiful and delicious, so it is better for several people to go.
