It is no exaggeration to say that Royal Dulton's history is the history of British ceramics.

Royal Dulton's history began in 1815, when John Dulton, in 1815, invested in a small pottery factory in a small town called Lambes on the Thames River in southern London.

At the time, there were several ceramic factories along the Thames River in London, and John Dulton solidified its foundation by winning the fierce competition.

Later, when his son Henry Dulton took over, the Royal Dulton company moved from Lambeth to Stoke-on-Trend.
In 1871, Henry Dulton selected young and promising designers and modelers to accelerate the development of elegant designs.
